Now you can very easily update selected pages or 'spots' on selected
pages of your custom Web site without knowing
html or Microsoft FrontPage. We call this spot editing, and it is
perfect for those who want to change properties, newsletter content, anything
that is time critical for up-to-date content. Spot editing saves you money and
gives you more control over your Web site. Spot editing must be hosted on our server.
Spot Editing is not a full-featured solution for
updating your entire site. The only way to enable full, unrestricted updating is
to use Microsoft FrontPage or any other real html editor. We do not recommend
FrontPage unless you are willing to invest in the learning curve and are
completely comfortable with computers!
The benefit of spot editing over FrontPage: you
can't seriously mess up your web site by getting too frisky. You can't delete
entire pages. You can't inadvertently delete your whole site. You can't mess up
the navigation. In other words, you can't get into a lot of trouble using spot
editing.
Spot editing is suitable for:
- Updating properties in your html pages if you
don't have a database.
- Updating a 'property of the week' when you
want to feature one special property on your front page or elsewhere
- Changing newsletter content
- Displaying and changing photos in a photo
gallery
- Updating an events and festivals web page
- Updating an open house list/advertisement
- Updating your bio and/or 'meet the team' page
- Changing featured articles you have written or
material that has appeared about you in publications
Spot editing is a very useful function for any area of your site
that is likely to change.
